DAR Headquarters, including the DAR Museum and DAR Library, will be closed to the public on Saturday, June 13 
due to street closures and access restrictions connected with an area event. Additionally, street traffic and parking 
in the area will be significantly restricted in the days leading up to and following the weekend events.

The DAR Celebrates America 250! Weekend

Weekend activities include a free public event on the morning of April 18, 2026 from 10 am – 12:30 pm at DAR Headquarters to celebrate America’s Birthday. 

Stay around for a landmark event in honor of our nation’s 250th anniversary: DAR Celebrates America 250! A Salute to Women Veterans, featuring legendary artist Patti LaBelle. The concert event will take place at 7 pm on April 18, 2026, at historic DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.

In celebration of our country’s 250th anniversary, we are privileged to present this special event which will underscore the immense contribution of women veterans and spotlight the impact they have made throughout our nation’s history. 

Taking place in DAR Constitution Hall, the evening will begin with a short program recognizing women veterans and organizations that support them, followed by a full-length concert by Patti LaBelle. Widely celebrated as the Godmother of Soul, LaBelle will bring her powerhouse vocals and timeless elegance to DAR Constitution Hall and the Nation's Capital. At this special DAR Celebrates America 250! concert, fans can expect an unforgettable evening of music that spans decades of hits – from her early days with The Bluebelles to her iconic solo career – with hits such as Lady MarmaladeOn My OwnIf Only You Knew and more.

This event will highlight the vital work of the Military Women’s Memorial, honoring the commitment, contributions, and experiences of all servicewomen. All tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com starting on December 19, 2025 and proceeds from the concert will support DAR’s Vivian's Outreach to Women grant program for organizations serving homeless and indigent women veterans.

Military Women's Memorial

The event pre-show will begin with a short program recognizing women veterans and highlight the vital work of the Military Women’s Memorial, honoring the commitment, contributions, and experiences of all servicewomen.

Vivian’s Outreach to Women Grant

The DAR Vivian’s Outreach to Women (VOW) Grant supports nonprofits that provide essential housing, health, family, and employment resources to help homeless and indigent women veterans achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

America's 250th Birthday Party!

Join the DAR for a FREE public event on the morning of April 18, 2026 from 10 am – 12:30 pm at DAR Headquarters! 

All are welcome to join in on family friendly activities in the DAR Library and DAR Museum, while enjoying cupcakes and refreshments to celebrate America’s Birthday. More details will be shared soon.
