Historical Significance
Following the victory at the Battle of Princeton on 3 Jan 1777 concluding the “10 Crucial Days,” Washington led the Continental Army on a four-day march to its winter encampment in Morristown along this route. Around 1914, multiple New Jersey DAR chapters contributed to install 13 monuments to mark this momentous route.
