- In the spirit of the giving season, visitors are invited to bring new or gently used children’s books to contribute to our DAR Open House book drive. Donations will benefit Books 4 Kids, a pediatric literacy program serving military families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and nearby military clinics, as well as Everybody Wins DC, a nonprofit organization promoting literacy among children throughout the Washington, DC area.
